TRIATHLON TRAINING AND RACING TIPS

How did you start in triathlon? I started triathlon when I was 9years old when my uncle introduced me to the sport, my dad taught me to swim when I was 4 and the love for sport just grew from there.

Favourite Training Session? Running session on the treadmill

6x3minutes @18.5KPH with 2minutes between

What is your favourite part of a triathlon? Competing and finding new limits to push myself to

Where would you like to improve? Everything until I become the best

Do you have tips for other women? Triathlon Is not only great for competing and challenging yourself physically but mentally ,its an addiction but is a good way!

What tips do you have to stay motivated and what keeps you motivated? Motivation comes from wanting to be the best and for me that’s wanting to stand on top of the podium but that could mean getting a fast time, beating your PB, finishing ! It all gives you that champion feeling that’s addictive.

How important is confidence in your racing performance? You get confidence from doing well, and we me personally I get confidence from my training sessions and it helps me race well.

Any tips for improving swimming? Work on your technique swimming is one that a good technique could improve your time and save you energy so you can bike and run quicker.

Any training tips to improve cycling? This one is time on the bike, getting the miles in and keeping the legs turning over.

Any training tips to improve running? Base work is very important so slower longer runs over the winter and then bring in the speed a few months before your race.

Any tips about racing? Enjoy it, if you enjoy it you will do better ,relax take a breath race hard and have fun
