Nicola Spirig has been in the sport of Triathlon for nearly 20 years and is now hoping to be part of the Swiss team at the Olympics in 2012, her third Olympics. How did you start in triathlon? I was 10 years old and did the Swiss Champs for up to 13 year olds

Where would you like to improve? Everywhere
Do you have tips for other women? You can achieve much more than you think
What tips do you have to stay motivated and what keeps you motivated? My goals keep me motivated, and that I can do what I like to do most as my profession.
How important is confidence in your racing performance? It’s very important, sometimes it decides about winning or losing.
Any tips for improving swimming? Take paddles and get some strength in the arms
Any training tips to improve cycling? Hill reps and time trial sessions
Any tips about racing? Do the work in training. Also train to run straight after hard bike sessions.
Would you like to share any of your goals with Miss Triathlon? To go to the Olympics for the third time and do very well there.
Why should more women participate in Triathlon? Because it’s a great sport.
